Metal additive + machining
Metal-printed development pieces, finish-machined interfaces, CNC injector and fixture hardware, and practical feedback on how to build them well.
Partnerships
Detonation Rocketry at Illinois is bringing together the manufacturing, measurement, and research support needed to build and test Resonance. If your team makes hard hardware possible, we'd love to talk.
Talk with AabisWe want partners who can contribute to a defined piece of the engine or its test campaign. That could be a first manufacturing credit, process advice, an inspection run, instrumentation, or direct support for the research.
Metal-printed development pieces, finish-machined interfaces, CNC injector and fixture hardware, and practical feedback on how to build them well.
Dimensional and internal inspection, dynamic pressure sensing, data acquisition, and the measurement expertise needed to make a firing informative.
Funding or in-kind support for focused development milestones—from test coupons and reviewed parts to calibrated measurements.
We can share the project overview, talk through the part or capability that fits your team, and agree on a scoped contribution. As the design progresses, we'll work from reviewed requirements and document what we learn from the hardware.
Led by Syed Aabis Akhtar, an aerospace engineering student at Illinois. Aabis previously built feed-system hardware for Liquid Rocketry at Illinois's LOX/IPA test stand and participated in its May 2026 bipropellant hot-fire effort.
